Pieza multidisciplinar para el Festival Cabanyal Intim 2019

Multidisciplinary piece for the Cabanyal Intim Festival 2019

Panero hijo

From the contextualization of the disenchantment Panero´s family and the period of the spanish Transition, we made a journey through the trajectory of the Panero family (mainly with the figure of Leopoldo Maria) as a metaphor for cultural development and the collective subconscious of our society, which has been heading towards an agreed and calculated freedom that leads us to madness, alienation, ignorance and loneliness.

A multidisciplinary proposal, guided by poetry, which alternated dialogues generated through the dramaturgy of the poetic work of Panero´s son, conversations and interviews with Leopoldo María himself, his siblings and his mother at different stages of his life, texts written by the performers ex profeso and other physical and audiovisual proposals.

The dramaturgy came mainly from poetry as raw material, but it was neither scenic poetry nor poetic theater. They entered the genre in an unclassifiable multitrend. This rarity, will be justified in the characterization of a confused society (which constantly doubts about some flimsy principles) and in the atmospheric creation of the mind of a madman (with the paranoid disorder, sometimes more lucid, although surreal, than that of the sane). The show was based on this vital confusion to make an unclassifiable but clear expression. Polyvalent but not ambiguous.

Contrary to what it may seem, working on the figure of Leopoldo María Panero, they did not intend at any time to make a dark or pessimistic show, but quite the opposite. They treated madness and confinement with a critical distance (without criticizing it means judging it), which allowed them to make an analysis through the identification with "Panero´s son" (Son of the Panero of the Franco regime, son of his culture, although he hates it) and with his poetic and biographical evolution from his first combative poems ("Canto a los anarquistas caídos sobre la primavera de 1939" ) to his last poems more self-contemplative and enclosed in the madness of his own social network: "Lilies to Nothingness", "Estantigua."

In a time in which rush does not allow calm readings, Paula Elena Ramos and Rafa Segura assured that from the performing arts they found a place to stop the world and reflect on the creativity of words and whet the appetite about our literature and their spanish authors. Hence the reflection on today's society based on the figure of a poet.
